Coming at you this July 2019, Big Teeth performance collective presents a revised, revamped, and more chilling incarnation of Ordinary Creatures, our devised inquiry on monstrosity. Our monsters live in the dirt, cross centuries, hover at thresholds, have coffee in the morning and help us pick out what to wear. Don’t miss us this July as we bring to the stage a deeply re-considered evening-length show emerging from the intersections of poetics and gore, virtuosic human sculpture and everyday chores. Through physical narrative, aerial acrobatics, ensemble exploration, and more questions than answers, we present a thoroughly satisfying evening on the nature of beauty, the grotesque, and how we stay stitched together. Big Teeth is a collective of performers who vision and create through physical inquiry and a wide, kaleidoscopic queer lens. Our experiences as birth workers, farmers, anthropologists, and public health researchers reverberate throughout our work as acrobats, thespians, dancers, and choreographers.
